Assistant Service Charge AccountantLondon£35-40k + Study Support & Hybrid Working (3:2)

The role: This role would suit someone who has service charge accounting experience and is looking for a role with a clear progression path to take on your own portfolio of assets within 6 months.

Duties:

  1. Input property service charge budgets, raise charges (service charge, rent, insurance, adhoc charges) and demands to send to tenants/leaseholders
  2. ???????Receipt incoming monies to correct leaseholder accounts
  3. Monthly reconciliation of client bank accounts
  4. Call and chase unpaid rents/service charges including:
    1. Sending out arrears letters and send to solicitors to recover if need be and liaise with solicitors to get the money collected.
    2. Reporting to clients on the unpaid rents where required.
  5. Help prepare service charge year-end accounts for submission to accountants.
  6. Collating documents for send off to external auditors.
  7. Liaise with the auditors and property managers to check draft accounts before finalization.
  8. Send year-end accounts and balancing charges with cover letters to tenants/leaseholders
  9. Quarterly variance reporting
  10. Assisting the Client Accountant with monthly client reporting with possible rent transfers to clients
  11. Dealing with queries from Tenants/Leaseholders, Suppliers, and Property Manager’s
  12. Set up new managements on the Qube system, and updating system following lease renewals/assignments
  13. Any other duties that may be necessary to ensure the smooth running of the department

Requirements:

  1. Experience assisting with the preparation of year end service charge accounts is highly desirable
  2. Previous experience using the Qube system
  3. The candidate must be able to work independently under pressure and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  4. Possess good communication skills both written and oral
