Finance Assistant
Location: Latimer Road, W10. Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Job Type: Temporary for 3 months
Working hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay: £12.82 per hour plus £1.55 holiday pay per hour - £14.36 per hour plus £1.73 per hour holiday (equivalent to annual salary of £25,000-£28,000 FTE)
Charity People are delighted to be working with a respected international organisation in the women's health sector to recruit a proactive and organised Finance Assistant to support their finance team during a busy period. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a global health-focused organisation while gaining valuable experience in a finance function.
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for providing efficient administrative support to the finance function, supporting the Finance Manager, ensuring compliance with policies, assisting with audits, and generating regular financial reports. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processes are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day Finance Administration:
- Act as first-line support for all finance-related inquiries.
- Manage the Finance inbox and ensure adherence to approvals process and policies.
- Handle bookkeeping via QuickBooks, including raising invoices, chasing debtors, and processing supplier invoices.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and process monthly expenses.
- Support the payment run process and liaise with suppliers regarding payments.
- Supporting the Annual Audit:
- Assist with compiling documentation and liaising with key stakeholders for the audit process.
- Organise meetings with auditors and assist with minute-taking.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular reports for accounts payable, receivables, and the general ledger.
- Office Administration:
- Ensure office supplies are stocked, greet visitors, and manage deliveries to the office.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- AAT accounting qualification or equivalent (desirable).
- Experience:
- Experience working in a finance department and organising own workload.
- Experience with QuickBooks (Intuit) accounting software and VAT categorisation.
- Experience working in a small team environment (desirable).
- Skills:
- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Personal Qualities:
- High integrity, good initiative, and team-oriented.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
