Ivy Rock Partners is proud to be working with a highly regarded and forward-thinking multi-academy trust in their search for an interim Assistant Accountant. This trust is dedicated to delivering outstanding education across its schools and is seeking a skilled and motivated finance professional to join their central finance team.

This is a hybrid working role with 3 days a week in the office.

The Role:As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the trust’s financial operations, including intercompany transactions, invoice processing, and a mix of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills while working in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Handling invoice processing, including coding, verifying, and posting invoices.
  • Preparing and raising sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment runs and debt collection.
  • Assisting with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Responding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and best practices.

About You:The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with:

  • Proven experience in a finance role, ideally with exposure to AP, AR, and intercompany processes.
  • A strong ability to work with financial systems and adapt quickly to new tools.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • A collaborative approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in the education or not-for-profit sector (desirable but not essential).
