Michael Page are currently supporting one of our key clients who are a leading Brokerage based in the City of London who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join them on an interim basis for an initial period of 6 weeks. The role requires Sage Intacct experience and Financial Services experience is required.

Michael Page are currently supporting one of our key clients who are a leading Brokerage based in the City of London who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join them on an interim basis for an initial period of 6 weeks. The role requires Sage Intacct experience and Financial Services exposure is required.

This position requires an experienced Assistant Accountant to support them with a high volume of work load due to a system implementation underway. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency, will also be PQ ACCA or CIMA, with desirable 3-5 years of experience within this field.

Our client is a prominent player within the financial services industry. Based in London, they provide a broad range of services within the banking and financial sector, striving to deliver the highest quality of service to their clients.

Description

As Assistant Accountant, your key tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Supporting the finance department, accountants, and managerial staff by completing routine clerical and accounting tasks.
  • Preparing budgets, maintaining reports, and completing basic bookkeeping and accounting duties for the company.
  • Completing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Reconciling reports and financial data.
  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
  • Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers, and journals.
  • Preparing financial reports and statements for audit purposes.

Profile

The successful candidate should hold the following:

  • PQ ACCA or CIMA with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using SAGE Intacct, with a strong ability to navigate the system effectively.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and quickly adapt.
  • Skilled in prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and achieving objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Comfortable working in an office-based environment (London-Bank).
  • Experience working in a small business setting is advantageous.

Job Offer

Immediate start role + Salary ranging up to £45,000 (dependent on experience) + Interim role, initially for up to 6 weeks with potential of extension + Hybrid working - 2/3 days working from home per week + Leading Brokerage company with key presence across the market + London City Centre location
