I am currently working with a public sector body who currently have an urgent need for Assistant Capital Accountant to support the Capital and Treasury Manager.
Role
- Capital Budget monitoring (monthly/quarterly)
- Working closely with project managers/budget holders to ensure project costs are captured correctly.
- Assist with capital budget planning process. (Reconciling Capital approved governance papers to the capital programme)
- Prepare capital journals and undertake reconciliation tasks.
- Assist with completion of statutory capital returns.
- Month-end and year-end activities.
- Good Excel skills
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of local government/public sector capital accounting
- Ideally with local government/public sector experience.
Ideally part qualified…the role will be hybrid working.
