Our client is a multinational shipping group headquartered in central London, with operations globally. Due to growth, the company is recruiting a Junior Bookkeeper to join their high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Purchase Ledger for a fleet of vessels, including invoice coding, inputting, and bank reconciliation
  • Oversee the invoices and accounts mailbox, ensuring timely responses to suppliers enquiries
  • Reconcile Charter Hire for each period and allocate vessel revenue
  • Perform regular Balance Sheet reconciliations, including inter-company reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly management reports, including victualling rate analysis and crew change costs
  • Assist with Year-End financial audits
  • Ensure new suppliers are set up in compliance with company policies
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is essential (2.1) minimum
  • Strong personal drive and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well as part of a team
