Oliver James are currently recruiting for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join a Lloyd's Underwriting Syndicate who specialise in property, construction and casualty insurance.

If you are due to finish college/sixth form or already have and successfully completed a qualification in a relevant subject , as this will significantly contribute to the foundational knowledge required in accounting and prove your capabilities.

A-Levels/qualifications that are relevant (A*-B grade or equivalent) :

  • Mathematics (studying mathematics, would give you a solid foundation in calculus, algebra and statistics, enhancing your analytical capabilities and be prepared for the numerical nature of accounting work.)
  • Economics (having understanding of economics would enable future accountants to grasp the external factors affecting businesses and economies, enriching their capability to analyse financial situations).
  • Business (develops critical thinking and decision-making skills, preparing you to tackle real-world business challenges you will encounter in their accounting careers).

Some colleges/sixth forms may give you the option to complete your studies in Accounting , Finance or Statistics - the above bullet points are mainstream qualifications.
