About the Role

As part of a specialist team, you will:

  • Provide expert guidance on GMP equalisation and other benefit rectification projects for both ongoing pension schemes and those preparing for buy-in, buy-out, or wind-up.
  • Conduct benefit rectification exercises, collaborating with internal teams and providing technical support where needed.
  • Play an integral role in delivering high-quality client solutions, ensuring best practices and compliance with pension regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to client projects related to GMP equalisation, conversion, and other rectification initiatives.
  • Supervise, review, and sign off work from junior team members, offering mentoring and constructive feedback to enhance their skills and development.
  • Act as the primary client contact for designated projects, attending meetings and providing expert advice.
  • Support the management of team workflow, ensuring timely delivery of client solutions while maintaining strong communication and motivation within the team.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified Actuary (study support available if required) or equivalent experience.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an actuarial role, ideally with GMP knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of pension scheme benefits legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, manage multiple tasks, and perform under pressure.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with PFaroe actuarial consulting software.
  • Previous experience in a pensions consultancy actuarial role.
