Your new companyMy client is based in the education industry. They provide learning services for the council, who in turn provide those services to local schools for their SEN students. Your new role

  • Providing a proficient, effective and timely SEN casework related support function as part of the SEN Strategic and Casework team to support a specialised service related to pupils with SEN.
  • To ensure that support functions are administered within priorities set out by the SEN Casework Manager.
  • To work closely with the SEN Strategic Casework team to plan, develop, implement and maintain robust administrative processes to support the functions of the service.
  • Provide high quality and proactive general business and organisational support to the SEN Strategic and Casework Team, including diary management, word processing, filing, photocopying, handling post, preparing routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and other documents using ICT based systems, etc as required.
  • In particular, ensure tasks are dealt with according to plans and arrangements put in place by SEN Casework Managers, the SEN Statutory and Strategic Process Manager to enable timely responses to work associated with:
    • Assessment and preparing EHCPs
    • Annual reviews by schools, settings, colleges and the Local Authority
    • SEN appeals
    • Complaints, FOI and SAR requests
    • Phase transition processes
    • Pupils transferring between other LAs
    • School funding team requirements
    • Customer care response time standards.
  • Organise, administer and attend a range of meetings and specialist panels as required. To include preparing and circulating minutes, agendas and documents, taking minutes, recording and communicating decisions.

What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you must have proven experience in Administration, knowledge of GDPR and be able to handle day to day tasks with confidentiality. You will need to be IT Literate and have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The successful candidate must have a current DBS on the update system as you will be handling sensitive information related to pupils with SEN. Experience working within Education would be beneficial but is not essential. What you'll get in returnThis role is a 6-month Temp Maternity Cover but has the potential to be extended. A permanent offer at the end could be a possibility. The position will predominantly be working remotely, with the occasional day in the office when needed. Working hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday. 21 days annual leave entitlement + bank holidays.
