About the Role

Our client is an esteemed professional association dedicated to advancing excellence in the field of orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal health. They are seeking a highly organised and motivated Programmes and Committees Officer to join their team on a maternity cover basis.

Reporting to the Head of Education and Programmes, as the Programmes and Committees Officer you will oversee a range of projects, provide essential committee support, and work with key stakeholders, including senior clinicians, Council members, and other professional bodies. This is a diverse role requiring excellent project management, communication, and administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate a variety of projects, including clinical practice reviews and the development of guidance and information materials.
  • Organise and attend internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, writing minutes, and following up on actions.
  • Liaise with committee members and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and progress on projects.
  • Prepare consultation responses, reports, letters, and presentations on important issues affecting the medical profession and members.
  • Support the President, Executive team, and Committee Chairs with the creation of briefing materials and presentations.
  • Handle a wide range of enquiries from members, medical professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the planning and logistics for events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Use the CRM system to maintain accurate records, including contact details and tracking committee queries.
  • Work closely with the communications team to promote committee work and relevant projects.
  • Assist in financial management, including processing committee expense claims and preparing budgets for projects and programmes.

Requirements:

  • Significant committee administration experience, including organising and attending meetings and minute-taking.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior board or committee members.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, and CRM/database systems.
  • A degree or equivalent experience is essential, and a project management qualification is desirable.

Benefits:

  • Annual leave: 25 days + 8 bank holidays + 4 privilege days between Christmas and New Year.
  • Pension: SAUL pension scheme - Employee contribution: 6%; Employer contribution: 16% (including admin costs).
  • Hybrid working: 1-2 days in the office, 3-4 days from home (initially more office-based for handover).
  • Additional monitor(s) provided for home working.
