The Greater London Authority are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer to join the Energy Unit within the Good Growth Directorate. This role is crucial for supporting the delivery of various energy-related projects, ensuring efficient and effective project management and coordination.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive project support, including maintaining files, managing data spreadsheets, and conducting research on relevant topics.
  • Assist programme leads by drafting correspondence, collating payment information, tracking agreements and actions, monitoring finances, and overseeing contractor performance.
  • Organise and support events such as roundtables, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, including sending invitations, arranging venues, and managing onsite requirements.
  • Offer general support to the team by preparing meeting materials (slides, agendas, reports), taking and circulating meeting notes, and following up on actions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of communication and information systems to support unit activities, including website updates and newsletters.
  • Manage resources in line with the Authority’s policies and ethical standards.
  • Promote diversity and equality of opportunities within the unit and broader community.
  • Adapt flexibly to various duties and participate in multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental, and cross-organisational projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in events management and using communication tools.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Outlook, Excel, and other database systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective project support and coordinate small projects.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience of supporting a similar grant funded energy project is highly desirable.
