The Greater London Authority are looking to recruit a Public Liaison Officer to join the Strategy and Communications team. This role is pivotal in delivering customer-focused services for the Authority, including correspondence management, enquiry handling, and public representation at events. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing diverse interactions and promoting the GLA’s initiatives effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Implement systems and procedures for handling Mayoral correspondence.
  • Operate the GLA’s electronic correspondence management system to direct enquiries and provide information.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to all visitors at City Hall, ensuring enquiries are handled appropriately.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the GLA’s activities to provide accurate information.
  • Analyse public feedback to identify trends and communicate this information within the GLA.
  • Assist creatively and administratively with the organisation of exhibitions and represent the GLA at public events.
  • Engage in multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental, and cross-organisational groups and project teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in providing high-quality customer-focused services.
  • Proficiency in drafting both routine and complex written responses.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of handling public enquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Proficient use of office software including databases, spreadsheets, and general office applications.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to a wide range of target groups.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships effectively across diverse groups.
