Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and highly skilled Respiratory Nurses to join our remote team as Spirometry Interpreters. In this role, you will work from home, focusing on the interpretation of spirometry tests performed onsite by Healthcare Assistants.

Your expert analysis and clear communication of results will be essential in guiding effective patient care, ensuring adherence to NICE guidelines, and supporting the NHS in delivering high quality respiratory diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

Remote Spirometry Interpretation

  • Analyse and interpret spirometry test results transmitted digitally from Healthcare Assistants, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established clinical protocols and NICE guidelines.
  • Generate clear, concise, and actionable reports outlining diagnostic findings and recommended care pathways for review by local healthcare professionals.
  • Share the results back with the referring healthcare professional using the software solution provided

Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as the primary clinical contact for Healthcare Assistants and other remote team members, providing guidance and support on test procedures and data collection when needed.
  • Collaborate with local healthcare providers via telehealth platforms to discuss interpretations and facilitate seamless integration into patient care plans.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure that all remote interpretations are compliant with the 2024 commissioning standards for spirometry and any other relevant clinical protocols.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of spirometry guidelines, best practices, and technological tools used in digital diagnostics.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Accurately document all test interpretations and communications using the Edrece secure digital platforms, ensuring complete and confidential patient records.
  • Engage in regular audits and quality assurance activities to support continuous service improvement and adherence to regulatory standards.

Professional Development and Support

  • Participate in ongoing remote training sessions, webinars, and team meetings to remain current on advancements in spirometry interpretation and respiratory care.
  • Provide input and share best practices within the centralised Edrece support network to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration (e.g., with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or equivalent).
  • Possession of an ARTP Diploma in Spirometry or equivalent certification is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting spirometry tests, preferably within an NHS or similar clinical environment.
  • Strong understanding of respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, with the ability to provide clear clinical guidance remotely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital communication tools for data management, reporting, and telehealth interactions.

Working Conditions
