Job OverviewThe trust is seeking a skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Respiratory and Care of the Elderly (COE) team at University Hospital Lewisham. The role involves delivering specialist physiotherapy services to adult inpatients with respiratory conditions and elderly care needs, supporting rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with complex respiratory conditions using airway clearance techniques, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV).
- Conduct ABG analysis, cough assist, and interpret chest X-rays (CXR).
- Provide physiotherapy for elderly patients, ensuring mobility, functional independence, and safe discharge planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to optimise patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
- NHS experience in adult respiratory care and care of the elderly.
- Proficiency in airway clearance, oxygen therapy, ABG analysis, NIV use, cough assist, and CXR interpretation.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload independently.
