Job SpecificationOur client is an international e-commerce business specialising in eye care medical products. They are looking for a German Copywriter and Proof-reader to support with creating and editing content in German as part of a website migration project, and continuous content development tasks. This role will appeal to a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

This role will be responsible for delivering first-class copy, shaping, and driving the content for the German-speaking markets. You will also contribute to the testing phase of the new German website, ensuring optimal performance, functionality, and a seamless user experience for German customers.

Role responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with web migration project(s) for Germany and other European markets
  • Conduct rigorous testing of the website's functionalities (the ordering process, the site's responsiveness, the navigation, hyperlinks, promo codes and overall user experience)
  • Verify that customer relationship management systems and transactional emails are functioning correctly.
  • Work closely with the web migration team to provide timely feedback and insights.
  • Content optimisation for the transactional purchase user journey content
  • Produce copy for the German websites
  • Create captivating content for marketing emails, social media posts, PPC campaigns, paid social and design assets.
  • Optimisation of existing content
  • Monitor and share learnings on market trends and competitors
  • Report on project status to internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Native German speaker with excellent communication skills
  • Strong English skills (written and verbal)
  • Min. 2 years' experience writing copy for ecommerce websites
  • Ability to tailor copy to fit cultural nuances and communication styles of the market
  • Meticulous attention to detail for content accuracy and functionality
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating and testing websites
  • Understanding of German local health and ecommerce industries
  • Experience of using SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush), CMS (CoreMedia, Magento or similar)
  • Creative content writer who can engage and convert website visitors into customers
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, time management and teamwork skills
  • Good understanding of SEO and the importance of good copywriting for improving rankings
  • Creative thinker
