About the Company

Our client is a leading provider of political monitoring intelligence to organisations across the UK and further afield. They provide fast, accurate and relevant information on the latest developments shaping policy and legislation in the UK and EU.

After an exciting period of growth, they’re looking to hire for a Business Development Manager to join the London Sales team to sell subscriptions and licenses for their online political intelligence SAAS platform to new clients across the UK.

This exciting role presents a unique opportunity to combine an interest in politics and public affairs with a strong commercial acumen.

As one of the 1stAccount Manager’s to be hired in the UK, you will be working towards achieving and exceeding monthly sales revenue targets and be responsible for managing and growing an existing book of business. You will also develop a genuine knowledge of your client’s and become a trusted advisor.

Part of the role will be out meeting with clients and delivering face to face sales demonstrations so therefore we are looking for someone who enjoys getting out and attending meetings.

Key responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will include:

  • Full responsibility to retain all customers, upselling to increase client value, and ensuring that customer expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Building strong relationships with clients to genuinely understand their business.
  • Agreeing service requirement and working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of agreed service across client base.

Candidate Requirements

  • Politics related degree or an interest in politics or public affairs would be beneficial
  • Track record in account management or customer success including managing renewals and driving growth from existing accounts
  • Proven track record in subscription-based sales / business information sales
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Value selling
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
