POSITION SUMMARY:
The EV Operations Director is responsible for overseeing, developing, and optimizing the operational activities. This role involves managing EV & non- charging assets, supply chain logistics, customer support, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals. The EV Operations Director collaborates across departments to align operations with strategic business objectives, delivering efficiency, scalability, and exceptional customer experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Leadership:Set operational goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Operations team.Right size the team - Asset Management, Customer service & Supply ChainStay updated on trends, technologies, and competitive developments in the EV industry to maintain a competitive edge.
Charging Infrastructure and Network Expansion:Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and management of EV charging stations.Ensure charging solutions meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.Make strategic choices on resourcing: Where to outsource and where to hold it inhouse?
Customer Experience and Support:Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction across the EV lifecycle, from purchase to servicing.Oversee after-sales services, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, and software updates.Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve EV products and services.
Compliance and Sustainability:Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations related to EV production, emissions, and safety.Champion sustainability initiatives within operations, including carbon footprint reduction and recycling programs for batteries and materials.
Team Management and Development:Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork.Identify talent gaps, hire new staff, and provide training and development programs.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, WE WOULD LOVE YOU TO HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations management, or a related field (Masters preferred).8+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field, with a focus on the automotive or EV industry.Proven experience leading large teams and managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong understanding of EV technologies, battery systems, and charging infrastructure.Knowledge of supply chain optimization, and quality control processes.Proficiency in operations management software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.Exceptional leadership and organizational skills with a results-driven approach.Strong communication and collaboration abilities across departments and with external partners.Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
