HEAD OF GLOBAL OPERATIONS: IMPORTANT NEW ROLE FOR SPANA, AN AMBITIOUS GLOBAL CHARITY SUPPORTING WORKING ANIMALS WORLD WIDE

SALARY: c£55,000 according to skills and experience.

BENEFITS: permanent contract, 34.5 hour week; 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, flexible hybrid working arrangements at our London office or the option of being home-based.

Established in 1923, SPANA’s goal is simple: to improve the welfare of working animals in vulnerable communities across the world. Through three key areas – treating, training and teaching – SPANA is inspiring others to act in the best interests of working animals while also providing practical, professional and sustainable solutions.

This new role of Head of Global Operations will be responsible for professional business support at both a strategic and an operational level across the organisation. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • providing the global support and country teams with the necessary operational infrastructure that respond to the changing ways of working for the organisation.
  • developing an IT Strategy and leading on IT projects.
  • building a culture of safeguarding within the organisation and across Global Partners.
  • ensuring a Duty of Care framework is in place across the organisation.

As Head of Global Operations you will have at least the following skills, experience and knowledge:

  • proven experience in Head of Operations role.
  • experience of working for an INGO or similar global non-profit entity.
  • good solid understanding of Operations, IT, HR, Safeguarding and Duty of Care services.
  • experience of providing strategic leadership across the broad range of operational activities.
  • business analysis skills, identifying needs and determining solutions.
  • excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A willingness to travel internationally is also expected.
