Commissioning Engineer - London

We are working with a leading Data Centre operator that is looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to take on a key role in overseeing the relationship with their main contractor. This role will see you on-site, working closely with the project team to ensure that the commissioning process is executed to perfection, and that no corners are being cut.

• Ownership of Main Contractor Relationship: You will be the primary point of contact for the main contractor and be responsible for ensuring smooth and transparent communication between all parties involved in the commissioning process.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough checks on all work carried out by the contractor, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Proactive Approach: Actively monitor the project timeline and proactively identify any risks, delays, or issues. Take ownership of resolving these issues swiftly to keep the project on track.
• Detail-Oriented: Take a meticulous approach to your work, ensuring that no detail is overlooked, and that all systems and processes are tested and commissioned according to the project's requirements.
• Problem Solving: Where issues arise, you will be expected to work with the team and contractor to troubleshoot and find solutions that maintain project integrity and timelines.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of progress, issues, and quality checks, providing regular updates to the senior management team.

• Proven experience in commissioning data centre projects or similar critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering as applied to data centres.
• Excellent ability to identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken before they become problems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with both internal teams and external contractors.
• Ability to work independently and be proactive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with experience in the data centre industry being a major advantage.
