The Role: Design Engineer
As Design Engineer, you will take on greater responsibility and autonomy, bridging the gap between associate roles and senior leadership. You will contribute to the design and delivery of innovative systems while supporting the broader engineering team. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on environment where you will see your work come to life within 4-12 months, creating measurable impact in high-profile venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently produce detailed specifications, work schedules, and documentation for electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Create high-quality CAD drawings and contribute to reviewing and refining complex designs.
- Solve technical challenges through engineering calculations and data analysis.
- Work across multiple disciplines, such as:
- WiFi, Ethernet, and IP communications.
- Audio and voice alarms.
- CCTV, video, and display systems.
- DC microgrid distribution and stored energy.
- Optical fibre and bespoke equipment containment.
- Conduct site surveys and gather essential data for project delivery.
- Provide hands-on support during commissioning, working collaboratively with field teams or remotely analysing and documenting results.
About You:
- HNC, HND, Level 4/5 NVQ, or degree in an engineering, scientific, or mathematical field.
- 3-7 years of experience in an engineering environment, with exposure to fieldwork, design, or related roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates adaptability and a methodical approach, with an eye for detail.
- Comfortable taking on greater autonomy and managing your workload within a supportive team environment.
