Our client are a specialist contractor Located in London who complete projects for the area’s prime corporate property owners.
They are currently looking to hire a talented Health & Safety Manager to join their construction team. The right candidate will have a strong knowledge and experience in the health and safety aspect of the role and will take the lead on all H&S related issues from appointment to project completions.
The role will also have the responsibility of managing the training requirements of the construction teams & to help develop & manage their fledgling Energy Sustainability & Governance dept.
Key Responsibilities.
• Health & Safety  – Help promote a positive H&S culture, Pre-construction safety plan, site setup, CPP updates, site signage, RAMS assistance & reviews, Liaison with Clients H&S representatives, and the Considerate Contractors scheme, monitor appropriate information such as accident & incident reports and assist with investigations and debriefs. Liaison with their external advisors to ensure progression & Development with company H&S Plan, Chair regular reviews with Site managers & contracts managers, carry out regular site audits & advise.
• Training – Regular review of staff certification i.e., SMSTS, PASMA, First Aid, manual handling, abrasive wheels etc. etc. Organising the required training & courses where required. Professional training for the management team should also be considered such as SMSTS, Fire door installation assessment and fire stopping as a basic.
• Energy, Sustainability Governance – Constant development of the Environmental, Social & Governance responsibilities of the modern construction firm. This includes the commitment to the net zero concept using the carbon tracking data systems we have engaged in through Cadogan Estates, and the firm’s responsibility to the community, clients & staff. Assist in Safe contractor/ Facilities line update returns. To note, the embracing of the firms ESG commitment is a new one and this role will develop and grow with lots of input from the successful candidate.
Key Required Attributes. The successful applicant will be required to have:
- NEBOSH, IOSH membership
- Scaffold Imspection
- Experience of managing H&S within the construction industry.
- People management experience.
- Willingness to travel to projects based across London.
- Good attention to detail.
- Well organised with an ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to assist in leading and developing change.
- Knowledge of Net Zero process / ISO14001 would be beneficial.
