My client is a UK leading Design Consultancy with a number of years' experience working on innovative and future proof products and experiences that enhance businesses and improve lives. The role:
As a Senior Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to work closely with the technical design engineers and across all other departments that are involved within each project. We are seeking an individual who has experience with engineering science and mechanisms whilst equally appreciating the aesthetics and usability:
- Creation of innovative and technical concepts
- Research and development - sourcing and specifying technologies, suppliers and manufacturing processes
- Development of concepts and making them into reliable solutions: 3D CAD modelling, engineering calculations, risk analysis and management of prototypes for testing
- Working and presenting to clients directly
- Design for manufacture which will include engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Product/Industrial Design Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role - previous consultancy experience would be ideal
- Strong sketching ability, 3D CAD modelling (Solidworks or CREO), surfacing ability and understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Familiarity with diverse materials and processes for things such as plastic injection moulding, casting, machining and fabrication
- Experience in rapid prototyping and testing ideas
- Use of Adobe suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) would be advantageous
