Salary: 55,000 - 65,000

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and empowering teams to reach their full potential? If so, my client is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to play a key role in transforming their finance test team. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality engineering advocate to shape best practices and drive change in a fast-paced environment.



About the Role:

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be at the forefront of a transformation initiative, championing quality engineering across the business. You will work closely with IT teams and senior business stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes that directly impact users and customers.

This role involves leading and mentoring a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving innovation in testing methodologies. You will be responsible for designing and implementing test strategies that optimise efficiency and automation, as well as reviewing and approving key test documentation. Additionally, you will oversee risk management, ensuring mitigation plans are in place, and provide clear, concise test metrics and reporting to senior stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the test team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement test strategies that drive efficiency, automation, and optimisation.
  • Oversee test planning, execution, and documentation, including Test Scope, Test Scenarios, and Test Completion Reports.
  • Identify and mitigate project testing risks, ensuring clear action plans are in place.
  • Deliver comprehensive test metrics and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Ensure test evidence aligns with acceptance criteria and escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT and the business to advocate for quality engineering best practices.


What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in software testing and quality engineering, with expertise in both functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, and accessibility).
  • Strong understanding of system development life cycle methodologies and experience implementing QE metrics to enhance automation and efficiency.
  • Experience setting QE standards, defining best practices, and developing test data & tooling strategies.
  • Ability to assess and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies within a testing environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
