Senior Lighting Designer


Location: Southwark, Central London
Salary: £40,000 - £52,000 p/annum

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Senior Lighting designer to join an internationally acclaimed lighting design consultancy that specializes in creating bespoke lighting solutions for prestigious projects across the globe. From 5-star luxury hotels to high-end restaurants, retailers, and private residences, this award-winning studio collaborates with some of the most iconic architects and interior designers. This role would be ideal for an experienced Senior Lighting Designer with a proven track record in hospitality and residential design or a Middleweight Lighting Designer ready to step up into a senior role.



Package:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 p/annum

  • Hours: 9:00am 5:30pm
  • Location: Southwark, Central London




Duties:

  • Develop and present innovative lighting concepts from briefing to completion, ensuring precision in all design documentation.
  • Specify lighting products and prepare luminaire schedules and technical specifications.
  • Design lighting layouts and create detailed installation lighting designs.
  • Conduct lighting calculations and draft lighting control philosophies.
  • Manage project scopes from concept to construction, meeting deadlines with quality deliverables.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes and produce documentation for tender and construction stages.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain seamless communication and workflow.
  • Provide mentorship to junior designers and facilitate team collaboration.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Lighting Designer in a design consultancy setting
  • Masters or Degree Qualified in Interior Design
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, AutoCAD, DIALux, and Bluebeam (Revit/BIM experience is advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of hospitality and residential lighting design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D architectural drawings with excellent 3D spatial visualization skills
  • In-depth knowledge of luminaire manufacturing from technical and aesthetic perspectives
  • Excellent hand sketching skills and an eye for design
  • Fluency in English and the legal right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship
