GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Art Technicians to work in 'Good' and 'Outstanding' secondary schools across Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant school environment, assist in art lessons, and contribute to fostering creativity in students. Whether you’re an experienced Art Technician, an art graduate exploring education, or someone with a strong background in the arts, this role provides a rewarding experience to support the next generation of artists.

As an Art Technician, you will provide technical and administrative support to the art department, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and materials are readily available. Your role will also involve maintaining a creative and safe workspace, allowing students to express their creativity and produce inspiring artwork.

What the Role Will Involve:

• Preparing and organising materials, tools, and equipment for art lessons.
• Ensuring all art equipment and workspaces are maintained, cleaned, and ready for use.
• Assisting teachers during practical art lessons to ensure smooth lesson delivery.
• Monitoring and managing stock levels, including ordering supplies when necessary.
• Supporting students during lessons, offering guidance on techniques and the use of materials.
• Ensuring all materials and practices comply with health and safety standards.
• Assisting in the display and presentation of students’ artwork throughout the school.
• Collaborating with the art department to create a positive and creative learning environment.

Art Technician Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Art Technician in schools or similar settings.
• A degree or background in Fine Arts, Design, or a related field is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and support students in their artistic development.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in an art environment.
• Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Proof of the right to work in the UK and two references for background checks.
