The Role
The school are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our performances, productions, and creative projects. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain lighting, sound, and audiovisual equipment for rehearsals, performances, and events.
- Provide technical support for productions, including rigging and de-rigging of equipment.
- Collaborate with directors, performers, and other creatives to achieve the artistic vision.
- Maintain and organize technical equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of performances and events.
- Provide training and support to students and staff in the use of technical equipment.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in lighting, sound, or AV operation in a performing arts environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols in technical theatre.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of digital audio workstations and editing software.
- Experience with stage management or production coordination.
- Qualifications in technical theatre or a related field.
