The Role

The school are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our performances, productions, and creative projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain lighting, sound, and audiovisual equipment for rehearsals, performances, and events.
  • Provide technical support for productions, including rigging and de-rigging of equipment.
  • Collaborate with directors, performers, and other creatives to achieve the artistic vision.
  • Maintain and organize technical equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of performances and events.
  • Provide training and support to students and staff in the use of technical equipment.


Essential Requirements

  • Experience in lighting, sound, or AV operation in a performing arts environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols in technical theatre.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.


Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of digital audio workstations and editing software.
  • Experience with stage management or production coordination.
  • Qualifications in technical theatre or a related field.
