Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Modern Japanese cuisine, a creative flair, and the ability to manage and inspire a team of 12-14 chefs. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, while ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.
English speaking and writing is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage a team of 12-14 chefs
Develop and execute innovative Japanese dishes alongside the Culinary Director
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs
Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff
Collaborate with the management team to create seasonal menus and special events
Monitor and evaluate kitchen performance, implementing improvements as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in an acclaimed Modern Japanese restaurant
Please note we are NOT looking for a head sushi chef, you must have experience of running a leading contemporary Japanese restaurant as Head or Sous Chef
Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culinary techniques
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
Creativity and passion for culinary arts
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
Ability to relocate to Europe, single status is preferred
