My London based Local Government client is recruiting for a Finance Manager - Income Recovery and Financial Assessments to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the shared financial assessment service and manage the adult social care and public health financial assessments and debt recovery functions.

Specific duties of the role will include:

  • Leading the Financial Assessments Teams to ensure timely and accurate financial assessments are carried out for people receiving adult social care and public health services.
  • Understanding the business needs for adult social care services and coming up with practical and customer-focused solutions to meet these needs, including leading on complaints investigation and resolution for charging.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and equitable implementation of charging regulations and providing advice on changes in charging legislation.
  • Oversee the Department's income generation ensuring that income is being maximised, and debts are being appropriately monitored and managed.
  • To work with the Head of Finance and Finance Manager to ensure that the FAIR department is correctly reflected in closing for the end of the financial year.
  • To ensure that all financial assessments are reviewed on an annual basis for the end of the financial year.
  • Make final decision in relation to complex financial assessment cases such as disregard of capital assets or income.
  • Manage the team leaders in the department in relation to all staff matters.

This role requires a candidate with a clear understanding of charging frameworks for adult social services as well as experience in managing a Financial Assessment Team and experience of managing budgets.

This role is a permanent role and being offered on a hybrid basis with some office presence requires each week. The salary band is 55,000 to 69,000.
