Leading international engineering consultancy who are renowned for delivering flagship projects that have a positive impact on communities around the world, seeking a proven planning professional to join their London team as an Associate Director.

You will join a rapidly growing planning and project controls team where you will have a major input in the development of staff and innovative planning/project controls solutions.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the establishment of contractor schedule requirements through early supply chain engagement to support time, cost, and quality targets for the programme of works and monthly business reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Planning to improve and sustain operating policies, mitigating risk throughout the project.
  • Provide specialist advice and technical knowledge to respond to delays, issues, and challenges throughout the project.
  • Lead periodic correlation of schedules to drive expedient project delivery.
  • Coordinate and communicate the schedule reporting cycle, ensuring correlation to the Phase's executive reporting lifecycle.
  • Own the quality and robustness of business reporting, providing periodic project progress updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Sustain governance processes and review policies to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Lead a team by setting objectives, reviewing performance, undertaking appraisals, and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Conduct self-assessment of procedural compliance and share lessons learned and best practices within the Planning community.
  • Support the Head of Planning in preparing for and attending meetings to deliver market and strategy insights to senior commercial teams.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a Planning or Project Controls role within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects, preferably with a formal Project Management qualification.
  • Knowledge of transport and/or major infrastructure or construction projects, specifically within the context of Client and the consultation process.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment, with aptitude to work across business areas.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team within a large-scale project environment.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
  • Familiarity with public sector policies, processes, procedures, and associated political impacts.
