Our client, a global leader in Audio Visual services, is expanding their team and seeking an Audio Visual Cover Technician in London. In this role, you will provide coverage for sickness, holidays, and leave at over 10 different client sites across London. This offers the chance to work with a range of technologies in different environments, ensuring no two days are the same. One day, you could be at a prestigious Google office, and the next, managing Microsoft Teams meeting rooms.
The client operates with 8-hour working days, and any hours worked beyond this are paid as overtime!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic maintenance and support for Audio Visual and Video Conferencing (AV/VC) equipment and systems at assigned client sites.
- Offer AV/VC support to clients, their staff, and external guests.
- Set up, operate, and maintain AV/VC equipment.
- Adapt to working as part of a permanent AV team or independently at single-site assignments.
- Assist end-users as required by the client.
- Support events, including setting up and operating PA systems, VC systems, projection setups, and more, for both small events and large auditorium configurations.
- Cross-train with team members to ensure smooth service delivery across all client needs.
- Handle any administrative tasks as required.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting videoconferencing hardware (Cisco, Webex, Poly, etc.), including resolving issues like audio feedback and video loss.
- Break/fix experience with AV/VC equipment.
- Experience with PA systems, projection equipment, and room control/booking systems (Crestron, AMX, etc.).
- Strong IT knowledge.
- Dedication to delivering excellent customer service to clients at all levels of seniority.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with flexibility to accommodate last-minute requests.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical individuals.
- Comfortable working in unfamiliar environments and adaptable to various settings.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a small team.
