Totum Partners are working with a leading law firm to recruit a Legal Cashier on a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team, helping to ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and other regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial records.

The ideal Legal Cashier will be responsible for:

  • Handling payments, receipts, and transfers across client and office accounts
  • Supporting adherence to SARs and related regulations
  • Carrying out daily bank reconciliations and account reviews
  • Running reports to ensure ongoing SRA compliance
  • Preparing forecasts, managing funding requests, and monitoring liquidity
  • Assisting with CHAPS, BACS, and international payments
  • Reviewing client balances weekly and helping clear residual funds with key stakeholders
  • Posting Partner payments including drawings, capital, and interest
  • Supporting SAR audit processes and liaising with auditors
  • Carrying out various ad hoc cashiering duties as needed

The Ideal Legal Cashier will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier is essential
  • Experience using 3E would be highly advantageous
  • Finance or accounts experience in professional services
  • Understanding of client/office account processes
  • Detail-focused, organised, and self-driven
  • Flexible, positive, and able to manage priorities
