Installation Technician| London & Home Counties | 37.5 hrs/week | £14.30 per hour

For over forty years, our client has been helping clients throughout the UK to achieve independent lifestyles, with the aid of technology. The company’s Door Openers, Window Openers and other Communication and Security Equipment can be tailored to meet a client’s specific needs/abilities, believing everyone should have independence in their own home or anywhere they may wish to visit.

Due to continued growth, our client is currently looking for an experienced Technician/Engineer with a clean British driving licence and own vehicle, who will mainly be installing and assessing equipment required by clients within the South of England.

Requirements:

  • Own transport required, as you will be covering the London Home Counties area and beyond as required.
  • A good command of basic electronics and have a sound background in mechanics or/and working with materials.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, and an ability to trouble shoot problems, and relate the nature of problems; if not the ability to overcome them is important.
  • You should be able to allow in the order of 20-37.5 hours per week, and be able to schedule their work, however, keeping the company informed using electronic media.
  • CRB/DBS disclosure sought by the employer.
  • City & Guilds Qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering or greater will be beneficial.

Duties:

  • Driving to various sites across London and the Home Counties to install and assess equipment required.
  • In the event that a job cannot be completed on the day of the visit, the company shall be informed, and a further visit arranged by appointment with the client.
  • The applicant shall be expected to be able to work with special consideration for people with disabilities, and to ensure that the site is left safe and tidy on all occasions.

Benefits:

  • Training shall be given ‘in service’, and technical assistance over the phone when on site.
  • A rate per hour plus mileage rate shall be paid, to be invoiced on a monthly basis.
