A Global Investment Bank are currently looking for a Credit Middle Office Associate with bonds experience on a permanent basis.

The role is based in Liverpool street and they offer a hybrid working which is 3 days in the office per week.

The ideal candidate would have experience within the back or middle office within a financial institution and have recent experience with bonds. (essential)

The London Credit Middle Office associate will assist the team in the execution of control and support functions for their Global Markets Division trading desks. The team’s main responsibility is to ensure the timeliness of trade capture, amendment, cancellation, validation, deal flow and life cycle events in Front Office systems.

The Credit Middle Office acts as a support and control function for the activities managed in London by the Credit Market Business Line who works with financial products such as Bonds, CDS, CDS Indices; Synthetic and Cash CDOs,  Swaps, FRAs and Strips.

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the proper booking of the transactions. You will contribute to the development of a reliable and effective first level of control function of the perimeter you will take in charge. You will also have the opportunity to participate in various projects related to client business development, to optimize secure transactions and provide control of risks.

You will also participate to business projects such as new markets development or new products, new regulations and market rules.

Key Responsibilities

Control:

  • Trade validation in FO systems (1st level of control)
  • Bond life cycle management. STP failure, corporate action monitoring, bookings and book transfers
  • Work with trading and back office to resolve settlement issues in a timely manner
  • CDS & Indices: Control of New Trades and Unwinds booking plus follow up. CDS booking with failure
  • Swaps: Control of New Trades and Unwinds booking plus follow up. Swap booking with failure
  • Novation and compression control for CDS and Swaps
  • Ownership of CDS compressions in booking systems
  • Funding/re-financing: calculation and booking in FO systems
  • Monitoring of STP flows, failure investigation and follow-up. Resolution with IT and FO business lines

Support:

  • Failed and alleged trades monitoring
  • False/technical counterparty checks
  • Syndication fees follow-up
  • Invoice Booking & P&L Transfers
  • Bilateral Compressions
  • Collateral discrepancy checks and investigation
  • Contribute to significant systems projects through testing and analysis
  • Distressed Assets lifecycle management

Credit & Succession Events:

  • Bank-wide management of Credit and Succession Events: responsibility of managing and prioritisation of all requests and questions pertaining to Credit Events in a timely manner
  • Booking, FO communication, validation and materialising the P&L impact
  • Co-ordination with other support teams such as: BO, Legal, Risk and MAM
  • Compilation of information of the ISDA Determinations Committee decisions

Other ad hoc requests:

  • Specific stock reconciliation
  • Reporting / KPIs
  • Represent Middle Office Trading Support on assigned projects
  • Deputise for the head of Middle Office Trade Support Credit when asked
  • Contribute to post- incident investigations and follow-up
