Income Collection Officer - Hackney Council

We are seeking a dedicated Income Collection Officer to manage temporary accommodation accounts and ensure the efficient collection of rent and service charges while supporting residents in sustaining their tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of temporary accommodation accounts, ensuring timely rent collection.
  • Assist tenants with housing benefit applications and financial capability advice.
  • Engage with residents in arrears, including home visits and pre-legal stage appointments.
  • Provide front-line support at the Hackney Service Centre for income-related queries.
  • Identify accounts requiring possession action and serve notice-seeking possession.
  • Represent Hackney Council at possession hearings and coordinate evictions when required.
  • Work with internal teams and external agencies to provide joined-up support services.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR and stay updated on welfare and housing legislation.
