I am delighted to be partnered with a global law firm in their search for a Rates Assistant to join their London office on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to break into rates from a different area of legal finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance to support senior members of the Rates team.
  • Monitor the Rates inbox and respond to email queries promptly.
  • Review global business acceptance rate proposals, including entering matter rates, applying blended rate sets, and discounts.
  • Support the team with general rates housekeeping to ensure existing system rates are accurate.
  • Update system client/matter comments with current rate information.
  • Produce rate information from Aderant and SSRS reports.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss issues and solutions.
  • Assist the Rates Manager with ad-hoc requests.

About You:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience in Finance/Accounts.
  • Understanding of the billing process.
  • Experience using an accounting practice management system.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other MS packages.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Numerically competent with excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to use initiative and maintain a proactive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work produced.
