An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Royalties Assistant to join a dynamic Royalty & Third-Party Accounting team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in royalties accountancy, a strong interest in the music industry, and a desire to further develop their skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work with high-profile music clients, providing exposure to a diverse and influential portfolio within the industry.What You'll Do
  • Edit sales data for upload into Counterpoint royalty and Curve systems, aiding the preparation of third-party accounting.
  • Assist with the preparation of royalty accounting statements across the distribution business on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis.
  • Reconcile and clear various balance sheet accounts holding royalty-related balances.
  • Analyse substantial royalty data from recording and publishing labels and digital platforms, condensing it into concise summaries.
  • Prepare journals to process direct royalty income by title.
  • Maintain the Royalties receivable tracker, ensuring timely follow-ups on outstanding reports.
  • Provide data to finance teams to reconcile balances held on the balance sheet.
  • Support the Royalties Manager with other ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience in royalties accountancy or a related field.
  • Strong background in music royalties experience, particularly in third-party accounting.
  • Understanding of income via publishing and recording is highly desirable.
  • Experience at another music accountancy firm with a royalties department would be beneficial.
  • Subject to qualification stage, or newly qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • General knowledge of Counterpoint and Curve royalty systems is a bonus.
