One of the world’s largest global law firms is looking for an experienced Marketing & Business Development professional to work within a well-established and highly-regarded global Marketing & BD team dedicated to supporting the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing and client relationship management activities.

Based in either London, New York or Washington DC, the successful applicant will support the marketing activities of the firm’s International Arbitration practice globally across varying markets and clients, driving marketing and business development activities and programmes that strengthen the firm’s reputation, engage clients and drive revenue. This will be a highly collaborative role working closely with the Practice Area Leader for International Arbitration, the International Arbitration Leadership Group and marketing and BD peers globally. Reporting directly to the Marketing & Business Development Director, Litigation, Arbitration and Employment, you will be required to learn about the firm’s service offerings, lawyers and clients, in order to lead initiatives based on an enhanced knowledge of clients’ business needs, the competitive landscape of global International Arbitration and the firm’s capabilities. You will be expected to build strong working relationships with the practice globally, as well as with other key partners, and to develop, execute and manage a range of business development and marketing initiatives aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities. Managing the International Arbitration global budget and serving as a strategic business partner to partners globally, you will to steward BD investment to align tightly to strategic priorities and capture meaningful return on investment. Monitoring industry and legal trends and competitor marketing initiatives to ensure the practice stays ahead of the curve and is seen as an industry leader, you will manage responses to RFPs, customised pitches and business development presentations, including crafting targeted positioning and strategy and overseeing tasks related to client acquisition. The role holder will be responsible for identifying cross-selling opportunities with clients and will work with global, national and regional colleagues and lawyers to expand client relationships. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also develop and implement structured and planned approaches across a full range of marketing activities including profile raising, event production and executing the awards and rankings programme for International Arbitration globally. In addition, you will be required to collaborate with marketing and BD support for the broader LAE Americas practice.

Pre-requisites for this challenging Marketing & Business Development Manager role include strong, proven marketing and business development experience ideally gained in a Big Law setting, with direct International Arbitration or Disputes marketing and BD experience to include demonstrable success in both project and team management. A highly organised, critical thinker able to devise data-driven marketing and business development strategies, the ideal candidate will excel working within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable but it is by no means essential.
