Your new companyMy client, a leading international bank in the heart of London, is looking for a Relationship Manager to join the Financial Institutions department sitting within the first line of defence. This international bank has an established London presence for over 50 years. You will be joining a close-knit and supportive department and will work closely with other departments.

Your new roleMy client is looking for an experienced and skilled Relationship Manager (Financial Institutions) who has extensive experience within the UK market maintaining and expanding FI & NBFI clients and market clearing to clientele. Specific day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Prepare credit applications and renewals for FI clients' limits and facilities for approval by the head office and local credit committee.
  • Market to potential clients, maintain relationships with existing clients, and promote the products and services offered.
  • Develop and manage a loan asset portfolio in line with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Initiate risk ratings, conduct thorough due diligence, prepare credit submissions according to the bank's standards, and present them to the credit committee.
  • Create pitch books and presentations as required.
  • Prepare and send onboarding packages to new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with the bank's policies and risk framework. Follow up on KYC procedures, collaborate with the Client Onboarding team to complete client onboarding and reviews, and communicate with clients to gather necessary information.
  • Minimise loan risks through diligent, timely reviews and proactive monitoring of economic and market influences, industry trends, and data. Manage loan risks effectively, address risk issues, and adjust credit structures to minimise losses.
  • Identify, own, and manage conduct risk and controls daily, implementing the bank's conduct risk framework processes. This includes identifying, assessing, and managing conduct risk, executing activities as intended, and addressing inadequate processes and control breaks.

My client is looking for someone who has at least 5 years UK experience, specifically managing and developing relationships with financial institutions (banks & NBFIs). They are looking for someone who possesses a good understanding of a variety of commercial banking products. Excellent communication, verbal and written skills are required.
