We’re thrilled to share that Venn Group are partnering with a prestigious London Independent School to find a dynamic Accounts Payable Officer for a permanent role.

This exciting opportunity involves playing a key role in the bustling finance department, where you’ll handle high-volume tasks and contribute to the overall financial health of the institution.

Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 per annum

Working Hours: Full-time, 52 weeks per year, 37.5 hours per week (with condensed hours during school holidays)

Location: North London,  Initially 100% onsite, with the potential to transition to a hybrid model after successfully completing the probation period

Job responsibilities include:

  • Processing invoices and gaining invoice approval
  • Processing bank runs
  • Being responsible for bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling supplier accounts
  • Aiding purchasing responsibilities within the School
  • Liaising with the wider School’s professional and academic staff with regards to orders and chasing pay approvals
  • Matching invoices and processing credit notes
  • Assisting with procure to pay implementation
  • Dealing with procure to pay queries from wider staff
  • Managing double-entry bookkeeping
  • Handling accruals and prepayments
  • Using Excel to investigate and manipulate financial data

Person specification:

  • A pro-active and motivated individual
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Proven experience within a high volume Accounts Payable team
  • AAT qualification, accountancy degree or part-qualified accountant (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the finance system Sage (Desirable)
