My client, a leading construction firm, is looking for a Payments/AP Specialist to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance and accounting, with specific experience in the construction industry, to oversee and manage all aspects of their payment processes.
Day to day of the role:- Oversee and manage the entire payment process, including vendor payments, subcontractor payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payments in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure proper documentation and approval of invoices.
- Monitor cash flow and forecast payment schedules to ensure sufficient funds are available for project needs.
- Develop and implement payment policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
- Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and present regular reports on payment activities and financial status to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in payment management.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payment management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
