Our client is a law firm with offices located in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Their aim is to become the leading Law firm combining specialist business law and private wealth advice internationally. They have over 1000 staff, which includes over 150 Partners and approximately 40 employees within the Finance team.

They are seeking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Review dormant client account balances with consideration to SRA Rule 14 and other projects, such as the review of credit disbursements and the maintenance of the Firms Central Register of Accounts.
  • Offering support to core functions within the AP and Cashiers team
  • Reviewing the firms’ client accounts for funds received and informing the related fee earner promptly, before recording the receipt on the appropriate ledger in accordance with SRA.
  • Processing client account payment requests via Telegraphic Transfer and cheque
  • Processing requests to transfer client funds in settlement of the firm’s fees in accordance with SRA Rule 17
  • Reviewing the firm’s bills account and accurately allocating funds
  • Processing of employee expenses.
  • Recording of Counsel and Professional disbursements for the purposes of billing and the subsequent payments required in accordance with SRA.
  • Recording and payment of the Firms supplier invoices with consideration to VAT and the firms authority levels.

Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate will have had at least two years’ experience working as a legal cashier with a good understanding of the roles outlined above.
  • The candidate will demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of using Outlook and Excel and relative experience of an accounting package, preferably Elite Enterprise.
  • Highly motivated individual who will be able to deal effectively with conflicting requirements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deal with high volumes of work under pressure, with consideration to the related deadlines.
  • Pro-active team player with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
