Pentagon Talent are partnering with a top 200 UK law firm in search for a Senior Legal Cashier to join their London-based team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the cashiering function. This role will involve the direct management of 2 cashiers.About the RoleThis role will be in the office based near Euston station in London working 4 days a week in the office. They would expect the successful candidate to work in the office full time for the start to learn the new systems and build a professional relationship with the colleagues around you. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee and coordinate a small cashiering team of 2, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions whilst maintaining compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. This is a hands-on role that combines supervision, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to improving internal controls and procedures.Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading the cashiering team, resolving queries, and providing cover for absences.
  • Posting invoices and cash receipts, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining suspense and charity donation ledgers.
  • Managing client funds, including residual balances, unallocated receipts, and transfers.
  • Overseeing write-offs, breaches registers, and system user set-ups.
  • Conducting reviews of internal controls and suggesting process improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and best practices in handling client funds.
