Bookkeeper (3 days per week) | Audio Production SME | London/Hybrid (temp to perm)

Harmonic is thrilled to be working on an exclusive basis with an Audio Production SME with an emphasis on amplifying voices and creating compelling and exciting content.

The Client

Our client is an audio production and journalism business at the forefront of stories that grip the internet. Working with visionaries to tell their exciting, inspiring, or quirky stories, this business has gained pop-culture notoriety thanks to their high-quality storytelling, via podcasts and written pieces. Be it sports, true crime, history, or comedy, our client brings their A-Game to amplify voices that need to be heard.

This is a 3 day a week (part-time) role based in a bustling area in Central London. With a headcount of 30 across the business, you'll be joining their non-corporate creative culture that prioritises acceptance, passion, and friendliness.

The Role

As the business works to insource their finance function, your responsibility will be to support with the day-to-day management of the finance function, as well as completing general reports, supporting with supplier relations, and other ad hoc tasks to support the FD. Working alongside a talented Finance Director, this role will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and providing greater visibility of the finance function to the production teams. The role provides a great opportunity for a bookkeeper to add significant value to a growing creative business and experience a range of responsibilities to support the business.

The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills, strong project-based experience, as well as a passion and drive to support the widespread needs of a growing and passionate business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly collaborative business and really engraining yourself in a production-based SME, while applying your bookkeeping skills.

This is a part-time role with 3 days a week expected in the office and is initially a 12 month contract with the intention of going permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the day-to-day finance function, overseeing the general ledger
  • Reconcile supplier statements and address discrepancies
  • Process month end journals, prepare month end reconciliations
  • Perform payment runs (payroll, VAT, etc.)
  • Collaborate across the business to support production teams with finance/accounting matters
  • Assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly close/reporting
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the Finance Director and Production Teams

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 (pro rata)
