The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Bricklayer to join our team, carrying out bricklaying repairs, maintenance, and construction work on council properties. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, ensuring health and safety compliance, and working effectively within a team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out bricklaying work as per job specifications
  • Ordering and managing materials for projects.
  • Erecting, using, and dismantling access equipment (e.g., ladders, steps, platforms).
  • Recording work activities and submitting reports in a timely manner.
  • Following health & safety guidelines and risk assessment procedures.
  • Providing emergency out-of-hours service on a rota basis (if required).
  • Undertaking weekly vehicle checks and reporting defects.
  • Ensuring a high standard of quality and efficiency in all work.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Bricklaying, relevant City & Guilds certificate, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bricklaying and construction.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with residents and clients.
  • Responsible and safety-conscious attitude with experience following H&S procedures.
  • Experience working within a performance-related payment scheme.
