A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Back of House Supervisor to join the opening abc kitchens team at The Emory.

Designed by Rémi Tessier and featuring artworks by Damien Hirst, abc kitchens at The Emory brings chef Jean-Georges Vongerichtens acclaimed abc brand to the UK for the very first time. Vibrant, approachable and contemporary, the restaurants glass facade promises views of Hyde Park and Kensington, while the menu brings together delicious elements from a trio of Jean-Georges New York locations abc kitchen, abcV and abc cocina.

The Maybourne is proud to introduce a new architectural landmark to London. The final project designed by the late Lord Richard Rogers,The Emorywill be an exclusive, world-class hub of art and culture which marks the addition of a modern masterpiece to the group's global luxury estate. Situated on Knightsbridge and overlooking Hyde Park, The Emory will present 60 extraordinary suites set over 8 floors and a spectacular penthouse occupying the entire 9th floor.

As a Back of House Supervisor, you will proactively collaborate with the Executive Chef in overseeing and coordinating all facets of the Back of House department. This encompasses the seamless management of day-to-day operations, the meticulous acceptance of all deliveries, the orchestration of logistics both entering and departing the premises, vigilant control of store areas and stock management, active support in the procurement of stock and equipment for various departments, and the unwavering commitment to maintaining a secure and safe environment within the back-of-house areas, in strict adherence to health and safety standards.

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the executive chef and sous chefs to conduct regular stocktakes of designated areas. Report any discrepancies and recommend follow-up actions to the manager.
  • Assist in managing waste and recycling for the property, ensuring costs are minimised and comply with business and council regulations.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the back-of-house department and assist other hotel departments as needed.
  • Enforce departmental controls to ensure compliance with contracted time limits with the BOH agency Emprise. Receive these controls from the back-of-house manager.
  • Work closely with agency supervisors to support the management of back-of-house rotas, timesheets, and any other administrative responsibilities delegated by the back-of-house manager or superiors.
  • Follow abc kitchens and The Emory standards of service and delivery, maintaining budget goals, LQA and Forbes standards.
