Recruiting for an Estate Maintenance / Handy Person

We are currently recruiting for a Handy Person on behalf of our client, a prestigious residential development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to maintenance and has experience in a wide range of practical tasks. As a Handy Person, you will ensure that the estate and its communal areas are well-maintained, safe, and presentable for residents.

Location: North West London

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 8am to 4pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance tasks across the development, including minor plumbing, electrical repairs, and painting.
  • Maintain and repair communal areas, ensuring the property remains in good condition.
  • Respond to requests for repairs or maintenance from residents, handling tasks such as fixing doors, windows, or appliances.
  • Assist with general cleaning duties when required, including communal spaces, walkways, and car parks.
  • Perform basic landscaping and gardening duties such as trimming hedges, mowing lawns, and maintaining flower beds.
  • Ensure the property is safe, identifying and reporting any potential hazards.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as necessary for larger-scale repairs or projects.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies and ensure they are kept in good working order.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and report any safety concerns or hazards promptly.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a handy person, maintenance, or similar role.
  • A broad range of practical skills, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations in residential settings.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual work, including lifting and moving equipment.
