Working as part of the maintenance team under the supervision of the Facilities Manager. This role will use a wide range of skills, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and gardeningJob Duties

  • Applying skills to the maintenance and repair of the building and grounds in all areas of the charity.
  • Maintaining assigned equipment in proper working order.
  • Maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items required to perform duties assigned.
  • Performing minor repairs to the facilities plumbing, electrical system, and miscellaneous repairs to of doors windows etc.
  • Accepting and signing for deliveries to the building when necessary.
  • Maintaining security and safety systems.
  • Calculating the amount of materials and time required for each project.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Deputising for the facilities manager in his absence.
  • Effectively utilise all computer and office based systems to undertake your job
  • Ensure the House's Health & Safety policies are applied and adhered to at all times by residents, staff and visitors
  • Report incidents / hazards in a timely manner
  • Ensure the House's policies and procedures are understood and adhered to
  • Ensure that residents rights to privacy, dignity and self-determination are promoted, and that their rights as citizens are upheld
  • Promote & provide high standards of customer care / satisfaction, support, guidance and advice to all aspects of the services provided by the House.
  • Ensure an ethos of quality, courteousness and respect exists regardless of race, creed or religion
  • Develop, encourage, promote and maintain polite and effective communication / liaison at all levels with external services / agencies, colleagues and residents
  • To attend & participate in meetings, training & appraisal sessions as and when required
  • Ensure you work collaboratively with other staff & team members and participate in team and division meetings and activities
  • To report any service problems and make recommendations with regards service delivery to your supervisor
  • To plan and work in accordance with work schedules established by the House, wherein daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual tasks have been established and outlined
