About Us:We are a market-leading residential property management company seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, compliance, and maintenance of our residential portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and proactive maintenance across the portfolio, focusing on safety equipment, including fire doors, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Perform regular inspections, identifying issues or areas for improvement, and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Undertake in-house maintenance tasks such as painting, decorating, basic carpentry, and minor mechanical or electrical repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members and contractors to maintain a high standard of service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, completing risk assessments where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for maintenance tasks and inspections, utilising basic computer tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Report directly to the Maintenance Manager, assisting in implementing safety and compliance strategies.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in routine and proactive maintenance, preferably in a built environment role.
  • Knowledgeable in fire door compliance and safety equipment standards.
  • Familiar with Health & Safety regulations, with relevant qualifications or certifications (advantageous).
  • Skilled in trade tasks such as painting, decorating, basic carpentry, and understanding building systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to planning and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and manage workloads effectively.
  • Competent in using basic computer applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Desirable but not essential: Completed FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) and IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) training.
