We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Temporary School Caretaker for a prestigious school based in Westminster.

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of school facilities and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for the students, staff, and visitors

The role

  • General Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings and grounds, ensuring all facilities are in good working order.

  • Safety and Security: Monitor and manage the security of the school premises, including opening and closing the school, and responding to emergencies.

  • Cleaning: Oversee cleaning staff and ensure all areas of the school are clean and hygienic.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and ensure the school complies with all statutory requirements.

  • Groundskeeping: Maintain the school grounds, including gardening, landscaping, and snow/ice removal as required.

  • Event Support: Assist in the setup and breakdown of school events and activities.

  • Reporting: Report any issues or necessary major repairs to the Facilities Manager.

The ideal candidate

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or educational setting.

  • Skills: Basic handyman skills, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. Good organisational and communication skills.

  • Qualities: Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently. A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Clearance: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
