We are looking for a dedicated Estate Services Operative to join our team in Southwark.This is a temporary role for an initial 6-week period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. You will play a key role in ensuring estates are well-maintained, landscaped, litter-free, and safe from hazards.If you take pride in keeping spaces tidy and presentable and enjoy working as part of a team, this role is perfect for you!Estate Services Operative Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe environment by sweeping, washing, and disinfecting communal areas.
• Rotate and manage bins to ensure refuse chutes are clear and ready for collection.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks, including removing litter, graffiti, and bulk waste.
• Undertake grounds maintenance duties such as mowing, hedge trimming, planting, and weeding.
• Use powered equipment such as mowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers where needed.
• Carry out routine safety checks, including lifts, security systems, and fire alarms, reporting any faults.
• Assist with emergency services when required and ensure estate security.
• Carry out minor repairs and replace light bulbs where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed using a handheld PDA.
• Grit estates during winter months to ensure resident safety.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective service.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in caretaking, cleaning, or grounds maintenance.
• Basic DIY skills and knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
• Ability to prioritise workload and solve problems effectively.
• A customer-focused approach with good communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and handheld devices (PDA).
• A flexible and proactive attitude to work.
• A full manual driving licence is essential for this role.
